Policies/Rules and Regulations for Students

 

Basic Expectations:

The school’s approach towards discipline is for every student to acquire self discipline and be responsible conduct so as to contribute to the overall well-being of all in the school. Every child has the right to expect a conducive teaching and learning environment. Likewise, every student has the responsibility to contribute to that environment.

All Students are expected to fulfill the Three Basic Expectations.

Conduct

1. Respect People and Property

 

Students are to be respectful in attitude and manner to people and property.

2. Attend School Regularly

 

Students are to attend all academic programs, co-curricular activities, school functions Etc.

3. Do and Submit Work

 

Students are to work attentively not only on assigned daily class work, homework, projects and others but also have regular self-revision in order to ensure quality work is produced.

 

Attendance and Leave Policy:

1.  Students must be punctual at the beginning of the day, for all subject classes and activities. Attendance for morning assembly is compulsory.
2.  For every absence, a written statement signed by the parent / guardian is required on the day the Student returns. If a student is absent for more than three days - for reasons of ill health; a certificate from a doctor is required stating illness and fitness.
3.  A student who arrives late will require to bring an explanatory note from the parent.
4.  All explanatory notes for absence/ late arrival should be handed over to the class teacher. No one who is late or has been absent on the previous day will be admitted to the class without the permission of the Principal.
5.  Students, who are late for the third time, will be asked to bring parents on very next day.
6.  Outside the vacation period pupils are not granted leave. Prior permission should be sought for absence from the School for any reason known or planned in advance.No leave will be granted during the examinations.

7.  Students will not be allowed to leave school early unless parent/guardian sends a written note to the office. Expressed permission by the Principal is necessary.
8.  Attendance on the first day of the school after vacation is absolutely essential. A fine of Rs. 10.00 per day may be imposed on those absent for the first day. Those absent due to illness must inform the School either before or on the reopening day and present a Medical Certificate before they are admitted to class.
9.  The names of students who remain absent without leave for SIX DAYS may be struck off the rolls. A disciplinary fine may be imposed on late comers as a measure of exemplary penalty.

Policies related to Admissions

The School Academic Year begins in April and runs to March of the following year. 1.  The Management reserves to itself the right of admission.
2.  Admission is open to all castes; creed and communities without discrimination, provided children are deemed capable of drawing benefit from the kind of education imparted.
3.  Those applying for admission are, as a rule to appear for achievement test in the main subjects. They are tested as for terminal level of the class below the one for which they seek admission.
4.  A pupil who has attended a recognized school must submit a Transfer Certificate from the school. In the case of students from unrecognized private school or those who have not attended school, official Birth Certificate from, such as the Municipal or Panchayat, in support of the date of birth must be submitted. AFFIDAVITS ARE NOT ACCEPTED as a valid document. Excepting for clerical error, claims for change of date of birth are not entertained.
5.  All documents presented at the time of admission become the property of the school and cannot be returned.
6.  In the event of any clerical error regarding date of Birth in the Report Card or Certificate issued must be brought to the notice of the office immediately for rectification.
7.  The School gives preference to students who have been already on roll in Previous Classes.
8.  There will be an Entrance Exam for students from other schools.
9.  The admission however, will be barred to those students who have breached the code of conduct of discipline, have been negligent in studies, students whose parents do not attend the Parent Teacher Meetings and those who have been regular defaulters regarding submission of homework, submission of projects on time etc. However all admissions are provisional till the HPBOSE results are declared.
10.  Fee paid at the time of admission is not refundable.

Discipline Policies :

To be take care by School Discipline Committee

Discipline of the school is the one of the yard stick to assess the school performance. Discipline helps in creating conducive learning atmosphere. As such, it is important to have proper and systematic discipline policy in the school. The policy is also designed to promote fairness in taking disciplinary action.

Besides, the School Discipline Committee also ensures the safety and security of the students. It keeps a sharp vigil upon the safety & security of all the students in the campus. The Committee also looks and arranges for all the possible measures for the safety & security of all the students. The members of the said Committee make the students feel comfortable with the vicinity and School campus. It tries its best to provide them homely atmosphere in the campus

 

Over all Functions ……

  1. Handling all disciplinary matters within the framework of Education Policy and Discipline Policy designed by the school.
  2. Assessing school discipline status and making recommendation for promoting good discipline status.
  3. Calling the defaulters and advising for improvement.
  4. Making contact with the parents of the defaulters.
  5. Keeping the Principal informed about the decision taken against any defaulters.
  6. Keep records of all disciplinary matters.
  7. To work for smooth Functioning of School.
  8. To develop the Etiquettes and self Discipline among the students.
  9. To maintain and monitor overall Discipline in School.
  10. Formation of Anti-Ragging Squads with consultation of the Principal.
  11. To conduct the Regular meetings of the said Committee.
  12. In charge is solely responsible for the implementation of the activity/ programme in a befitting manner. Documentation is retained by the In charge.

Discipline Committee Will be responsible for Taking care of following points.

 

  1. Missing or bunking classes/assemblies,  Reporting late to class, Constantly interrupting the teaching process, Indulging in rude and unacceptable behavior in class.
  2. Consistent lapse in completing HW & CW even after written 3 reminders. Defaulter in bringing required material for learning to school after repeated written reminders. Irregularity in submission of school assignments.
  3. Uniform defaulters after 3 written reminder/messages.
  4. Littering in school or bus spaces even after written 3 reminders.
  5. Non-adherence to bus rules, Aggressive behavior  or  Bullying in Busses
  6. Using of inappropriate or foul language even after counselling and retribution letter/yellow card
  7. Disrespecting or answering back to the teacher.
  8. Carrying mobile phones or gadgets to school
  9. Indulging in inappropriate behavior on social media which may affect any other student or school in any manner.
  10. Using unfair means in the examination
  11. Breaking or misuse of school property
  12. If Tobacco Control Committee during regular/random checking   finds that any student is involved in consuming any kind of Tobacco product, or he/she is carrying it in the school premises, following steps will be taken:

 

 

Anti-Tobacco & Anti Drugs Policies

 

To manage the Anti-tobacco policies in The Bal Gurukul Public School Kangoo, we have constituted a Tobacco Control Committee, a dedicated group formed to create awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use and to ensure a tobacco-free campus, Developing and implementing policies to create a tobacco-free environment within the school premises. Its key roles include enforcing tobacco-free policies, educating the school & community about the dangers of tobacco, and organizing awareness activities to prevent tobacco use among students, staff, and visitors.

Objectives & Functions of Tobacco Control Committee

  1. Educating students, staff, and parents about the health risks associated with tobacco.
  2. Preventing the use, sale, and promotion of tobacco products within 100 yards of the school.
  3. Monitoring and reporting violations of tobacco use within or near the school.
  4. Celebrating” World No Tobacco Day" (May 31) with events and campaigns.
  5. Conducting at least one tobacco control activity every six months.
  6. Displaying "Tobacco Free Area" signage prominently throughout the premises.
  7. Encouraging student participation in tobacco-free pledge ceremonies and competitions like poster or slogan contests.
  8. Recognizing and awarding students, teachers, and staff who take initiative in tobacco control efforts.
  9. Involving parents and the local community to support a tobacco-free environment around the school.
  10. Ensuring that the school complies with national laws, such as the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), which prohibits selling tobacco products within 100 yards of an educational institution.

 

1.  Parents will be informed & we will conduct counseling session of students and parents.

2.  Students is supposed to adhere to the school’s policies against Tobacco & Drugs, if he / she is found Guilty of committing the same offence again, Strict Disciplinary action will be taken & parents will be asked to come forward so that student gets rid of the tobacco consumption.   Fine may be charged as per school norms.

3. If the student/students commit the same incident for the third, Parents will again be involved & student will be have to go through ATL “Asked to Leave” process of the school .  He/ She will be given SLC on Disciplinary Terms for consuming or carrying the tobacco products.
